[SML] Fast fold screens

Oh Wise List members.

I have a number of older 10.5’x14’ fast fold (Da-Lite) snap on screens and frames (old style locks with multiple front and rear projection surfaces).  All of which were purchased used on eBay.  The surfaces are fine but the frames have damaged hinges that warp the final screen.  Mostly OK for what we are doing BUT.   I just got a donation of 4 essentially brand new frames (no surfaces) with the new spring loaded latches BUT they are velcro not snaps.  

Do you think I try drilling the frame and adding snaps to the frame or attempting to attach the loop side of the velcro to the screen surround?  

If I go with the snaps, is there a trick to precisely line up the snaps?

If I go velcro would Velcro part #190984 loop cut it or should I find something with a more aggressive adhesive?  When I snap the surface to the current frames we do a lot of tugging to get it stretched enough to snap on.  

Obviously buying new surfaces would be awesome but just not in the budget right now.
