I'm sticking with the recently-departed 123Design for Mac for about 98% of
my 3D printing work, with the remaining work done in Sketchup - Note I do
NOT begin an object in Sketchup; it's reserved for a few arcane polygon
editing tricks that are much more difficult to accomplish in 123D.

All resulting STL files that get altered in Sketchup get fed thru Meshlab
to resolve polygons and vertices. Pure 123D files do not need this.

3D objects are sliced & G-code generated in MatterSlice. I also have the
option of using CuraEngine or Slic3r for generating the code.

Printing is handled using a proprietary version of MatterControl for Mac,
set up and tweaked specifically for my modified Rostock MAX v2 printer.
MatterControl also serves as a user interface for the slicing/encoding
software.
