My advice is to not. Seriously. With the seemingly eternal uncertainty of
spectrum shifts with all that's going on with the FCC, and the high cost of
maintenance and need to coordinate with the rest of a rig if you rent more
in the future, I'd really encourage just continuing to rent unless you have
an extremely compelling case and need for why you'd buy any. This is one of
those cases where the "we're paying so much over time to rent them"
argument doesn't hold up as well.

If anything, I'd buy a good inventory of mic elements, DPA or Sennheiser
MKE, NOT, NOT, NOT anything Countryman, and use those with rented
transmitters. Those are the things that suck a lot more as rental items,
generally speaking.
