Manual Cinema (Chicago) just came through with Ada/Ava.

Find a video on line if you can. Movie quality cinema using 4 overhead projectors and actors against the FP screen.

Their dowsers were manually operated cardboard flaps taped to the overhead lens housing.

All very low tech, but very effective (but not helpful when the projector is not with the operator).

Just a quick thanks to everyone who responded with ideas, schematics and more. Special gratitude to Alex Useted of Nashville Children's Theatre - right here in town, for heaven's sake - for putting the solution to our little problem in my hands this morning.

So glad you're all out there and willing to share skills and suggestions.
