[SML] Cue numbers

Interesting question. I usually just use the Act number as the first digit and then run sequentially. I don't mind point cues and have never used a full supply of them between cardinal numbers.

But just last night I ran a show somebody else had designed and cued. He used an interesting format -- everything in a three digit sequence: Act No. + scene no. + cue no., with point cues inserted as necessary. The first cue for any scene always ended with 1, and the "out" or last cue for any given scene always ended in 9. Thus, LQ 141 opened the scene and LQ149 or 149.79 always indicated the last cue of Act I, Sc. 4.

It took me a while to get my head around it, but it did make life easier a couple times. There are many "right" ways to do this. I'd say select any method that works logically and that everyone involved can grasp quickly and easily.
