[SML] Personal Work Boxes on tour

WOW, this is a broad question, in my experience.
As with any 'call' you are only required to bring the basic tools (for your department) and those would fit into most company road cases.
This would eliminate toting in your personal luggage (NSA concerns).
In my touring days as long as it was an even fractional truck pack and safe to haul up a ramp (low center of gravity), orientation irrelevant (could be loaded in any direction eg. wheels up, wheels back), "road/truck" durable, and most enclosed items got used during the tour then no body complained. I did have to balance what I carried vrs how to get it back home at the end of the tour (some tours ended and the show truck went on to a different show and I went a third way).
I typically carry a lot of test gear and tools and have (in my younger days) carried a beer cooler road case, but those heady days have past.
The other thing to remember is that when you bring anything personal on the road it becomes very vulnerable and you have to bear that risk.
In closing. It needs to be lockable (recessed), have GREAT, well mounted, easy rolling casters. Constructed and loaded such that teamsters will not sprain/break something.
MANY well placed handles or lifting places (hand holds, 1"x3" side rails, etc) radiused edges, and sanded please , no splinters....
Solve all that and create a work environment inside that case that works for you and you will have something you will be proud to show off in any venue.
