Theatrical Rights Worldwide does some excellent work -
https://www.theatricalrights.com/ - digital copies of things, and I
think they were one of the ones that gave up on that whole "clean up
your script and mail it back"* stuff.

Sam French has also been stepping up their game, in putting out
cleaned-up rental scripts (musical-wise), but I suspect their oldest
items probably didn't receive a digital do-over.
https://www.samuelfrench.com/ Sam French has been working hard to
increase its musical catalog.

Tams-Witmark is still your grandma's licensing house. They carry some
of the oldest shows. But to be honest it's been a number of years
since I've licensed from them, so I don't know if they've entered the
digital age.....

*I believe it was a Sam French show - I looked up the address where
they wanted the scripts and scores sent back, and it was a fiber
recycling facility in the midwest, so even though they claimed they'd
charge you for marked-up scripts and missing music, it was clear they
were just dumping it all in the recycling.

One was so bad, everyone had constant struggles trying to read text and music. You would think a musical from the 40's or 50's would warrant something better than a poor xerox of someone's script that had partially erased pencil marks, and the ever-present inconsistencies between script, vocal score, and musician's score.
