As an alternative, could the saw table slide out? The work bench countertop
could even be supported by the saw table. Some combination of drawer
slides, casters, legs, etc. to support the leading edge of saw table. Of
course saw also comes out to.

Lateral movements always seem simpler and less expensive than vertical.

I picture some curtain shade device that might mitigate saw dust on work
bench.

Or just build another garage for shop........
