One thing to be aware of with the Milwaukee M12 series of batteries is that the protection circuit that protects the battery pack from over-discharge is in the tools, not the battery pack. So it is quite possible to over-discharge a battery pack if someone forgets to turn off the device when it comes offstage. Best case scenario is "bricking" the battery pack. Worst case involves what battery manufacturers refer to as "venting with flame" and the rest of us refer to as an explosion. Milwaukee makes a battery holder for use in their line of heated clothing, Part 43-72-1000, that has a 12-volt jack and contains a protection circuit. Rated power out is only 1.5 amps constant, or up to 4 amps for 2 minutes, but it's a good solution for low wattage devices
