Hi Stephen,

definitely a real company with head offices in Netherlands and UK. The
job offer seems unlikely but your niece could email
recruitment at renewi.com and check it with them and have a look at their
websites which gives details of vacancies currently available, Working
at Renewi <https://careers.renewi.com/nl-nl/> Careers | Renewi
<https://www.renewi.com/en/careers>

Hope that helps

Julie

Subject: [SML] Off Topic - International Job Offer
I have an odd question to pose to folks. Please bear with me. My SIL
just called to say that my niece has been offered a data entry job with
a company called Renewi , a materials recycling company that is based in
the Benelux. I’ve been to a couple of sites seeking information about
the firm and I believe it’s a real company with a presence in Europe and
the UK. The odd thing is the way the offer came about. The niece had
been looking for work via Indeed and the offer came through them. The
interview process was only by text with a faceless entity and included
an offer starting at $18/hr going to as much as $28. The entity also
said that the company would send my niece a check to purchase a new
computer for business use. We ha not been able to find a presence of
this company in the US. My SIL is concerned that this kind of sounds
like some kind of scam. The niece has been been strongly advised to not
sign anything or deposit any check that might appear without taking it
to an actual bank officer to verify it.
Any insight you folks might offer is greatly appreciated.
Wishing all good wishes for a better New Year.
