[SML] Scrim Suggestions Needed

I second this, unless you plan on rapid transitions between US/DS scenes.
You can often fly the black in just after the frontlight is turned on. The audience’s eyes will still be adjusting, so they will not notice it. It makes covering a scene change US much easier. Then you can go to full black US and remove the black drop.

Also, the White Scrim does reflect front light nicely.

If you're trying to hide people when it's dark it would be best to have a black drop upstage of the scrim with people in between. If you have a cyc the ambient light will still reveal shadows and such.

I've had excellent luck with dark blue scrims in front of sky-blue cycs.

Sounds like standard black sharkstooth scrim. Make it as tall and wide as you can fly and still get hidden when flown out. The bottom 4" or so will still be opaque as it will need pipe weight in the bottom to help it hang flat.

I am looking for a scrim curtain that can easily be backlit (seen through) for action upstage, but when illuminated on the front hides any upstage activity.

Any suggestions as to the type of fabric and possible suppliers?

Thanks!
