[SML] Cyc?

   Well, for some of us out in the trenches, a scrim in front of a black drape is the closest thing we own to a cyc, and we're very grateful to have a scrim at all. The scrim is more versatile than a cyc. And if we had money for either, it would all go for new blacks long before we bought either.

Genuine question - why would one want to use scrim material as a cyc? I wouldn’t think it would bounce light well, and it seems like it would be much more expensive.
