[SML] Perhaps an easy ETC EOS question....

Jon,

Cues [and palettes, presets, etc.] reference channel numbers, not
address, in EOS Ecosystem. Generally, if you unpatch a channel, all
the show data [minus, of course, address] is still in the showfile;
see exception below]. If you delete a channel, then all data for that
channel is erased.

1. Unpatching channels syntax [in the Patch tab]: XX @ *
Takes the address information off of the channel [or part 1 of a
multipart channel]

2. There's also a soft key called "Unpatch" which will do the same
thing: XX {unpatch} *
It will warn you that all non-Intensity data will be lost.

3. Deleting channels syntax: DEL XX @ *
It will ask you if. you're sure and that it will erase all show
information about that channel

I generally use method 1 if I think the channel might come back, and
method 3 if we've physically struck the unit and have no plans for it
to return. In 24 years of doing lighting [even back to the Obsession
& Expression days], I don't think I've ever used method 2.

TL;dr: If you unpatch the channel, show information will be retained.
If you delete the channel, show information will be lost. Never use
the Softkey method.

But I need to change its DMX address/universe. Can I/Do I just un-patch the old address, and re-patch that light (with the new DMX addy) into Channel 1, and every cue that references Channel 1 will function as before? Or does changing the DMX address unravel cue lists in some way?
