[SML] Colleges and the arts

When I was a senior in high school, my father told me, "College is not a
trade school."

At 17 years old, I had no idea what I wanted to do in further education...
and certainly no clue as to a career, but I definitely knew what I didn't
want... which was four more years of what I just spent the last twelve
years studying. I ended up learning the Bauhaus system of design at the
Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology.

It was a grand experience.
