[SML] VW Objects not displaying after insertion

Steve Shelly provided a clue:

The symbols are built with their own Class and Layer.

First insertion of that symbol creates the Class and Layer, BUT DOESN’T AUTOMATICALLY MAKE THAT CLASS / LAYER VISIBLE.  All good now (except I THINK there is a toggle for that, but I don’t know where that is hidden (Show Layers/Classes when Created).

( I learn a long time ago that newly created layers don’t show up in Saved Views, so I need to edit the View each time.  OK (sort of, but I learned that).

Andrew, did you get any response on this? I have had this happen in the past as well, and somehow it's either corrected itself, or I jostled something, and it came back to life, but I have no idea what I did.

I've got a (similar? related?) problem with one plot (currently in VW2024) - I have two fixtures in use that I can't find anywhere on the plot/file. I've looked through every layer, every class... nothing.  The paperwork lists them, and with correct data, but i just can't find the fixtures - like their hidden. Their brethren show just fine, it's just two fixtures... and so your post reminded me that maybe they're suffering from the same affliction....

Occasional user, usually to only update existing venue plots.

Sometimes I go to insert an Object from the Resource Browser.  The symbol is good, used for years.

I double click it, and cursor over to the drawing page.  The cursor looks normal, but no wire frame.
I click to insert it, click again with the correct rotation.  But the object doesn’t appear.

I can drag a box around it, and the handles appear at the corners of the Object, the Object Info box shows me I’ve selected the Object, but the Object doesn’t show up.

It’s not under a fill.  I’m trying to insert it onto Layer #1

I’m missing something simple I’m sure.
Any help greatly appreciated
