Pat and I talked about the Fitzgerald so much, especially when she visited me here in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, back in 2013, that I thought I might actually have a copy of her post. Sadly, no. It turns out the only printed material I still have is a 2015 newspaper article where the AP looked back on their original coverage of the sinking. Of course Pat contributed most of the information in that original coverage when she was reporting for the Sault Evening News. As someone who was a teenager at that time, living about fifty miles away, I remember that storm and that night vividly, so listening to Pat talk about it from the perspective of a working reporter was always fascinating.
