Thank you for the update Cindy.

I only knew Pat through her posts here, and a couple of emails.  She's always been one of my "Imaginary Internet Friends". We never got the chance to meet in person.
I've definitely missed her voice here, and was, perhaps, already feeling some anticipatory grief.

Again, thanks for the update Cindy.  I'll keep Pat in my thoughts.

I've posted this news about Pat over on the SML Facebook page, but for those who still read the mailing list, here's some news from a friend of Pat:

"this is to a subset of folks who are on my list that are friends of Pat Kight.
This is a heads up that things are changing in Pat's life.
Pat is currently (Friday, March 20, 2026) in the emergency room at her local hospital. She may be stuck in a bed there for as long as 20 days as they seek a placement for her. She needs 24/7 care now due to her advanced dementia and cannot return home; there's no real medical reason for them to admit her to the hospital itself, so she's kind of stuck in no-woman's land.
For those of you out of the loop, this is a positive step. She has needed 24/7 care for some time now, and for a myriad of reasons that hasn't yet happened. This forces the issue."

This is all the information I have. If I hear more, I'll let everyone know. Please keep Pat in your thoughts. She has been a good friend since we met on the internet *mumblety-mumble* years ago.
