we now have a dedicated Mac Mini in the booth ( with a persons fire wire 8 in 8 out for more sophisticate shows ) but on all of our shows . . both in house and rentals , unless there is an overriding reason why NOT everything gets loaded into Q lab . .
have used SOUND BYTE as well . . ( it mimics an old fashioned radio station 8 track cart rack ) and it can be very use full as well although there can sometime be a delay in clicking on Go . . etc as opposed to Q LAB . .

Our Director of Dance has checked in with her touring dance company contacts and has decided we need to go with some kind of sound back-up system, i.e. two sources playing simultaneously so the backup source can be unmuted in case of failure of the primary source.

I’d imagine the backup would be a CD started at the same time as the computer based sound. The other possibility would be either a dual CD player or separate CD players. Anyone know of Dual CD decks where one button can start both players?
