[SML] Genie lift safety

A brief explanation of what a 'Genie' lift is would be  in order.
Scissor lifts I understand, I think, and Tallescopes I have used many
times. But, having lost my sense of balance, so that I can go no more
than three steps up a ladder, I think that there are more forms of
access equipment than I have met.

It may be of interest that all the builders and roofers in the small
French town where I have a house use fork lift trucks for high level
access, rather than articulated arm lifts.
