[SML] A question about visual interpretation of RGB colors

Leds are very obvious point sources when viewed directly, I've seen some
people go as far as a double reflection for a clean multi-color
backlight (bounce LED off white reflector and then off a second).
Also, something you'll also notice is dimming. If you're looking
directly at the LEDs the dimming curve will be a LOT different than if
you're looking at something they're illuminating.
But, the basic answer is LOTS of LEDs with some sort of diffusion.
