It could help if there was a dispute. When responding to a submission
prompted by a Request for Proposal that I had distributed for a Design and
Build contract for costumes, set pieces, graphics, props, lighting, etc, I
stamp and sign the drawing(s) very conspicuously and hand the
designer/vendor a down payment at that time. If there are Change Orders, I,
as the Producer, sign them. The Director is not authorized to make changes
or expend my or the investor's money.
