And not just VectorWorks.... In a pinch, I've opened and viewed (and even
edited) DWGs of venues-to-come using a vector-based drawing program, such
as Illustrator.

And yes; ideally you'd either pair up DWG/DXF and PDF or offer a choice
between them.
