[SML] Up coming project

About halfway into my second year of retirement, and wrapping up what
may be the last really theatrically connected role I take on - closing
out my tenure as USITT Sound Commissioner - one final report to write
by June 20 and I will be a USITT civilian again! ;-)

No professional theatre projects - I have not entered a dark theatre
in anger since January 2015! Like Pat, I'm expanding my photography
exponentially (although not as a business) - I've discovered that
there are things OUTSIDE to photograph! There are uses for lenses that
aren't wide-angle! Who knew you could actually use ISO 64 on occasion?

Like Dan, I am mystified as to how I ever had time to have an actual
job. For those approaching or beginning to think about retirement -
let me tell you there should be no fear of being bored. If you've been
even mildly successful in any aspect of this business, you almost
certainly have the kind of imagination and curiosity that will fuel
many lifetimes.

And for everyone - stick your nose outside the theatre every now and
again and explore the strange world outside. Don't fall into the trap
of totally defining your life by what you do for a living - regardless
of how much that feels like "dedication" - and how much it energizes
you. You'll be a better theatre artist and a better human being if you
make a point of having an actual life. And that's something you have
to actively work to achieve.
