[SML] Variable speed motor

Have you considered something mechanical....either a hand winch or a
running block rig.  Tie off the line at the top of the ramp, reeve it
through a block attached to the platform and then back up through the top
of the ramp.  Should be a pretty easy hand over hand pull.  Electric
motors, even variable speed motors, have lots of torque and really require
a number of safeties, e-stops, end of ramp power cut off etc to ensure
safety....not to mention noise.
