[SML] Flooring material

We just had our studio floor replaced (was maso, and back to maso). (first deck was laid 20 years ago).

Both sides were painted before it was laid, and the top side painted again.

The first event put gaff tape down, and that pulled up the paint and the tempered face. Sigh

Don't know if the old floor was so covered in paint (it was measurable when it was peeled up) that it protected the maso surface, so that didn't happen. The paint often pulled up, to reveal a coat below that.

Maybe if you get 5 coats of paint on the new maso floor in the first month (allow curing time between coats) that will help???

looking for recommendations for stage flooring material. Contractor want to use masonite, the University is thinking something thicker and more durable. Any thoughts are appreciated.
