Hello,

I am mostly a lurker here, but would appreciate any information on how
anyone may have been able to create a tornado effect using dry ice or smoke
on stage.

I would assume there is a bowl with dry ice with fans placed around to
create the funnel. Then adding water to the dry ice?

Anyway, any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris Kidd

interesting, I would hope that at least a small run of actual printed
programmes would still be available to those that want them. Like Pat, I
don?t own a smart phone. I could scan the QR code and access it on my iPad
IF there was WiFi available, but that thing is bulky to have with me in my
seat. Also, I like to collect and save programmes. (I still have ones from
the 70?s in my file.)

Get a donor to fund a print-your-own-program kiosk in the lobby?

Just brainstorming, here ...

The whole conversation came up because I wondered about dispensing
with the whole layout, head shots, interviews, articles, ADS, etc that
have gone into our programs over the years. I am the only one
experienced in layout, offset printing, and all that 20th century
stuff, and I'm no longer going to do that.... if we're still going to
print, then they still need all that other stuff.

We used to have upwards of 2000+ programs printed, and that's dwindled
down to around 400, and even at that, we still end up with at least
30% unused (and there's always some discards on the floor that
perfectly re-usable). If we have to keep printing, it's still dozens
of hours in layout and writing, whether it's printing 2000 or 200.

Hey All,

Due to a last-minute health-related issue, I am looking to fill one of my
Intern slots ASAP.

This is a full-time position which pays well for an Internship and Includes
Blue Cross/Blue Shield benefits. Housing is NOT provided, but temporary
housing might be available for a month or so to help the person find a
roommate or apartment.

If anyone knows of someone who is looking for a position and would be
appropriate, please pass this along!

Full details can be found here:

FYI

Back in July, June Abernathy mentioned the new configuration for Lion
King tour. I asked about # of trucks. She mentioned some electric
moderization. ( dimmers, MR 16s etc) I got this today :

--------------------

Yeah, Don Holder was quoting it as 18 the other day. (18 TRUCKS)

Original had 5 rows of ministrips US for the cyc, and a bunch for each
leg. This reduction cuts all of the incandescent CYC lights and
replaces them with one set of ColorForce. Also means they get to ditch
all the dimmers for the incandescent and perhaps some assorted truss. I
think that saved them 1-2
trucks.
??????

So there is some of the ?new? configuraton.
