In regards to the Neverland confetti, I imagine it is the flutter fetti type, because of its long flight time.  The manufacturer does sell a metallic silver and gold versions. I don't think their confetti is as likely to get into your eye, because of the relatively large size.  The eyelashes tend to protect the eye. And even if it were to make contact with the eyeball, part of it would not, and so it would be easily removed.

As for clean-up.  I imagine the metallic version is plastic, and so if a crease were placed in it, it would reduce the tendency for them to adhere to a surface. Or alternatively, curl up the two long edges sightly.  I don't know how these modifications would affect the flight time.  It might even increase it.  Though, the tornado vortex is a help, It needs to be able to keep up with the falling confetti. Perhaps someone on this list, with a Mylar curtain, or balloon, and test it for the list!  It has been many years since I've used it, but I think the pieces were around 1 1/4" long, and half that width.  The rectangular shape is the key to its long flight time.
