[SML] Mounting a projector

The house TD at the Fredonia Opera House just received a new video
projector that is significantly larger than the former unit. The former
had a platform suspended from and FOH pipe by a yoke with two C-clamps.

The new projector weighs about 50 pounds, is larger than the exiting
platform and comes with hardware that seems designed for mounting to a
piece of 1.5" pipe in the projector itself.

The question is, could this projector be suspended by a C-Clamp fitted in a
hole bored in a 1.5" pipe cap that is threaded on to a piece of pipe and
then attached to the projector? The yoke bolt would be lock-nutted and
thread-locked to prevent loosening.

In the past, I've seen side arms for lighting mounted this way and they
seemed secure.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated - and soon. He wants to
mount the projector this week if possible.

Many TIA.
