MDO is like plyron but with a medium density overlay instead of a Hi
Density overlay. MDF is a medium density fiberboard. Masonite is no longer
made by the masonite corporation is Hi density fiberboard. That is why it
is such a good solution for floors. It is a very dense and cover with very
little structural strength which is why you have a plywood floor for
structure with the High density board as a wear layer.
MDF is a bad solution for floors in my opinion especially if there are
heavy wagons moving on it. It is too soft to be the kind of wear layer that
Hardboard is.
