I love the LED neon products. I still find it fairly expensive. We came up with a fairly budget solution. We had a sign CNC routed out of 3 - 4x8 sheets of 3/4” plywood. We then inserted red PEX tubing (3/4” IIRC) and 1/2” pneumatic tubing we had on the shelf. We inserted plain (cheap) white LED tape in the 1/2” groove behind the milky white pneumatic tubing and hot glued the same tape to the back of the red PEX. We made a circuit of white (outline) one for the words, and a third for a single letter in the sign that we could “blink” separately to make a flicker effect. I’ll see if I can dig up a picture.
