I've attached the last article Monona Rossol published about atmospherics. I will leave you to make your own conclusions about the safety of oil or glycol based theatrical fog and haze.
One thing to note, if you want to be sure you are below the exposure limits for these types of atmospherics, you will need a particle meter and a calibration chart for your particular machine. Or you will need to hire an industrial hygienist to do the air testing for you
