Of course, dovetail this with the earlier thread concerning the current
trend in colleges & universities to eliminate or reduce fine arts programs
and this may be the real explanation for the perceived lagging salaries in
educational theatre. Many of these institutions do not value what we do
for our students and institution. They are run by bean counters who create
spreadsheets that fail to account for half of the service we render and,
therefore, judge the fine arts to be unprofitable and , consequently,
disposable.
