[SML] Dummy loads for LED light bulb strings

 I somehow was blind to the idea that the traditional things that get hot, go up in the air on the grid or truss. I.e. lights. Put the hot thing up with other lights.  Mounting the curling iron on the sign is the perfect answer.
By the way, the wattage of the curling iron I have is only 40 watts on high.  We tried low setting, which didn't work. But, I am certain that the low setting simply put a diode in the circuit, so it was blocking half the AC waveform.  That probably meant that even if 20 watts would have worked, the pulsed waveform may have continued the problem.
I will also check out the American DJ dummy load.  Thanks for that suggestion  Barry Fritz
